For the best-looking pleats, choose a medium to heavy-weight fabric, such as tartan.
Cotton, cotton-linen blends and gabardine also work beautifully.

Two slider buckles or belt buckles, available from most haberdasheries or shoe repair shops. You can also recycle old belts you no longer use. If you choose belt buckles, make sure you have a way to punch belt holes.
Two snap fasteners
A decorative fusible patch of your choice (optional)
One or two buttons (optional, when using a single buckle see page 20)
